Diesel Heater Accessories: Choose the Right Upgrade for Your Van
Share
The right diesel heater accessory depends on what you want to change. A controller upgrade helps with day-to-day operation; a warm air duct helps with outlet placement; a replacement glow plug is a repair part. Start with the problem, then check the exact heater and component compatibility.
This guide compares the OGMIE range for camper vans, motorhomes and trucks, so you can decide which product to investigate before ordering.
Choose an accessory by the problem you want to solve
| Your priority | Product to consider | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Adjust the heater without reaching the wall controller | WiFi and Bluetooth upgrade kit | Mainboard, controller and connector compatibility |
| Route warm air to a more convenient position | FlexDuct warm air duct kit | Outlet dimensions, connection style and permitted duct route |
| Compare replacement and quieter fuel pump options | 22ML fuel pump kits | Voltage, pump specification and heater requirements |
| Replace a glow plug after diagnosing an ignition fault | Glow plug and ignition repair kits | Voltage, plug fit, connectors and gasket size |
| Use a suitable mains supply for a 12V heater | 220V AC to 12V DC power adapter | Supply voltage, UK or EU plug and heater power requirements |
WiFi controller upgrade: bring the controls closer
If your heater controller is awkward to reach from bed or the seating area, phone control may be the upgrade you will use most often. The OGMIE WiFi kit includes a replacement mainboard, LCD controller and wiring harness for compatible systems. It is a hardware upgrade, not just an app to download.
Smart includes the core components. Pro adds a 5m extension cable for controller placement. Ultra adds the extension cable and a CO alarm/controller. Bluetooth provides local control within range; WiFi functionality depends on the required network setup. Confirm compatibility before selecting a kit.
Read the WiFi and Bluetooth heater control guide for the kit comparison and practical use cases.
FlexDuct: plan the warm air outlet around your layout
A short or awkward duct can limit where you position the warm air outlet. The FlexDuct kit contains a flexible aluminium foil duct that extends up to 150cm and a 360-degree adjustable outlet connector.
The 5kW or 8kW label on a heater is not enough to confirm a fit. Compare the outlet dimensions and connection style. Plan the route within your heater manufacturer's limits for duct length, bends and clearances. This product is for warm air ducting, separate from the combustion exhaust.
See the FlexDuct guide for camper van layouts and check the product details before ordering.
Fuel pump kits: compare the contents, not just the name
The Basic kit is a standard replacement option. Standard includes a low-noise pump, upgraded fuel line and accessories. Ultra adds a dual-layer exhaust pipe and muffler to the low-noise pump package. Mechanical ticking can still be present; a quieter kit does not promise a completely silent heater.
Choose the correct 12V or 24V version and confirm that the pump specification matches your heater. If you are unsure which part is responsible for the noise, describe it to us before buying a replacement.
Ignition repair kits: identify the faulty part first
An ignition fault does not automatically mean a glow plug needs replacing. Error-code meanings vary between controllers, so use the documentation for your exact model before selecting parts.
OGMIE offers Basic, Standard and Ultra ignition kits with different glow plug and tool combinations. Check the product's current contents, voltage and gasket options, particularly if your heater needs a 2kW-specific gasket.
Power adapters: check the electrical match
The OGMIE adapter converts 220V AC to 12V DC and is available with UK or EU plugs. Confirm the heater's electrical requirements, including startup demand, before purchase. A power adapter changes the power source; it does not change the heater's installation requirements.
What information helps us check compatibility?
- Your heater brand, model and voltage.
- A clear photo of the current component and its label.
- Photos of connectors, or outlet measurements for ducting.
- The problem you want to solve and the kit you are considering.
